Humidifier selection criteria
When choosing a humidifier, it is fundamental to understand which model best satisfies the specific needs.
Experience tells us that best results come not only from choosing the most economically advantageous humidifier – which does not necessarily mean the less costly - but also, if not principally, the efficiency of the air-conditioning system, the precision of the control system and, to a considerable extent, the quality and frequency of maintenance.
Here below is an analysis of the criteria used to choose the most appropriate system for humidifying rooms or processes in the most common applications. The main parameters to be taken into consideration are:
- capacity range (maximum flow-rate in kg/hour and ability to modulate the flow-rate)
- layout of the room and type of air-conditioning system
- physical process chosen (isothermal/adiabatic) and energy source used
- needs of the application
- operating cost
- initial cost of the installation
